It was a decision from day to day. To sum up, our group plans collapsed, I was extremely tired of Canadian cold weather and because yolo I decided to go alone and on my own for a week to Cancún. Just 3,5 hours of flight (direct from London) and I got temperatures +28°C instead of -5°C. Cancún is safe even for lonely travelers and when you are alone you make many new friends from all over the world, you'll meet them later in the pictures below.

Must visit: Temple of Kukulkán, Temple of Coba, Tulum, Isla Mujeres with its North Beach, Swim in cave

Must eat: All the Mexican stuff like tacos, enchiladas, etc. Enjoy fruit and drink cheap juices and alcohol

Why should you go:

#1 No visa needed

#2 Price level like back home (1 peso is 1,1 Kč), very low prices in shops (Chedraui)

#3 Negotiation is fun. 10 USD is universal price for everything, just negotiate and

look like you wanna walk away and it will be yours for 5 USD ;)

#4 The clearest blue water I've ever seen

#5 Beautiful soft white sandy beaches

#6 One-day travel packages for reasonable price

#7 Friendly Mexican people

#8 Mexicans kinda believe we are still Czechoslovakia. Don't waste your energy on

      explaining, it's actually pretty hilarious.

#9 Shared hostel near beach for just 220 Kč per night where I met amazing ladies ;)

(Nirvana Hostel, Pok-Ta-Pok Street; really great staff! Carlos, Era, everyone!)

#10 Mexican tour guides definitely know their stuff! They keep your attention all

the time and make their presentation in amusing and interesting form. 10/10!

#11 The only thing I can say in Spanish is "Soy la chicka checa". Yet I survived with

         my English.
#12 This was my first trip as a lonely traveler but to be honest the world has never

opened for me like this before. It was just great! Don't be scared and just go.

Plus I'm a bit suspicious my airline company supported lonely travelers because

they sat me by the window every time :)

#13 Tequila!!!!

#14 25°C in the night - fun fact: locals wear do jackets in the night, they feel cold, it

made me laugh so hard! Something unbelievable for me :P

#15 Every day is something to discover

Be careful about:

#1 The fact that 5 minutes very ofter equals 45 minutes

#2 Traders are sometimes aggressive and they are forcing you their goods (mostly it

was annoying on Playa del Carmen or during visit Chichen Itza where everybody

      was shouting "Almost free"!)

#3 If you don't tip them, you'll get angry faces

#4 Yeah, I got super sunburnt

#5 Don't drink tap water

Go in February! Water is great and places are not overcrowded. Mi amigos, quick tip - buy sun cream with 50 protection. I got 30 and it was not enough, European skin is not ready for Mexican sun ;)  The last but most important tip: any price they tell you - always respond to their offer with half of it. They expect it ;) And buy a waterproof case for your phone on the beach for 50 pesos if you need.

Last interesting facts:

#1 Cancun" means snake nest

#2 The best way how to calm your tongue after a hot meal is to eat sugar or salt!

#3 In Mayan times you would be most suitable volunteer for sacrifice if you were

born in August or if you are 13 years old, don't ask me why though.
