THE CZECH REPUBLIC

  CANADA

The University of Economics, Prague → Richard Ivey School of Business, London

In February I sent an application for my exchange study. On 15th of March, I got the result: I'm going to Canada in 9 months.

I'll be honest - many shots of tequila were drunk that night in order to celebrate properly! Believe it or not, not only in the United Kingdom but also in Canada is a city called London. It took me quite a long time to convince all my friends to believe this fact.

I chose Canada because it's safe and beautiful country, I'm a fan of ice hockey (players) and also I wanted to live over the pond for the first time in my life.

A few moments before disaster, eh,  I mean  departure

December = Chaos

Packing for 4 months into one piece of luggage was just a nightmare. I wanted to take all my favorite pieces of clothing but I also had to take all the warm clothes I have.

An advantage of flying at 6AM - you have the airport just for yourself

Dear TAP Portugal - thanks for safe and comfortable travelling!

HERE WE GO!!! ZUZANA, VIKI, PAVEL, MARTINA

First stop - Liabon, Portugal, temperature: +15 °C

Letiště Václava Havla, Prague, the Czech Republic

First stop - Lisabon, Portugal, temperature: +15 °C

Lady at the information desk didn't understand why we wanted to see the bridge so desperately. But come on, it's just gorgeous!!

Lisboa surprised us in very pleasant way. We must have looked pretty ridiculous with all our winter shoes and all the clothes we already prepared for cold in Toronto. Within 5 hours we had in this city we were facing sharp sun but also rain.

First stop - Lisabon, Portugal, temperature: +15 °C

And finally - the first selfie on the Canadian soil. Let me translate the description for not Czech readers: We stuck at the airport waiting for our luggage for about an hour because the plane's door is frozen :D

After a long but quite comfortable flight with food and beverage (it was the first time I had wine in 10 km above earth surface haha), we were in Canada!

The security controls weren't that bad as promised,

we went through just fine after answering some questions.

The only problem was that the plane door was frozen so they must be defrosted so we can get our luggage.

It took about an hour. All I was thinking was:

"This can happen only in Canada LOL", but I was really laughing because I made it!

7 000 km from home in -12°C but HAPPY!
