#1 THIS! I know CA is told to be freezing but honestly - it's way worse than I expected. Incredible cold weather and unability to see because of all the snow in the eyes -_-
#2 Public transport here could make its own chapter.
a) they're always late
b) they don't mind passing next to 10+ waiting people on the stop because they're full
c) according to me they're not full at all, people are just so lazy to move!
c) if you wanna see what really "full" means feel free to visit Prague between 3-6 PM during work day. Than we can negotiate what the "full" really means.
d) sometimes they won't let you from the back door - again you are ignored
→ I guess approach "If you don't have car than feel free to die/freeze" is pretty comon in
the whole North America to be honest!
#3 Canadian beer has pretty poor taste *home sweet home*. I had good beer Canadian here, but it was for 7 dollars instead of 2 dollars like back home. Better stay sober I guess.
#4 LCBO - another chapter itself.
I heard this is strictly Ontario matter.
Why cannot I grab coke in one hand
rum or whatever in the second hand
and pay all together at one spot?
*home sweet home*
Here you just go to one queue, than you must
go to the other one + you keep showing
your ID as an idiot because you look like 14.
The worst is location of LCBO shops
... so remote
Please enjoy the look at the queue to shop →
#5 I miss food back home! Like I would almost die for having slovak halušky right now.
#6 I though this one was joke, but unfortunately, people here just do not distinguish between
serving golden and silver tequila. Even golden tequila is served with lemon and salt. I know Mexicans are just rolling their eyes because they drink their shots just like that, but I just love
ans miss the way tequila is drunk back home!
.
#9 Generally prices 2× - 3× higher than home
#10 UHIP which is mandatory and expensive health insurance is also a little bit out of my understanding. It does not cover all the costs, regular visit by your doctor costs about 40 dollars and then you need to send the bill by post and after all this procedure you can get your money back. Why cannot you just show with your insurance card (which is btw free for students) and don't care about anything?!
*home sweet home
#11 Honestly I never understood when dustmen pick up our garbage. I have a theory it is every 8th day but generally it seems to me like leave it outside and just hope...
#12 Cars go from 0 to 80 in couple seconds. My phone goes opposite way with its battery. In Toronto it just collapsed, totally not prepared for cold weather. I know I have sh*tty phone, which is just my problem, but I never had this problem back home in winter. Here the weather is just so cruel!
#13 Inches, feets, Fahrenheits. NOOOOO!!!
WHY on Earth would you used this? HELP!
#14 I'm super spoilt by Schengen and European Union where you just show your ID and go! Here were my fingerprints taken and everybody keeps asking what I was doing there and what
am I gonna do there and if I have guns and they keep around with dogs. Crossing borders to
USA took us such a long time! Be more practical, please, this is annoying.
